Fleeing an arranged marriage to the wretched Prince Semyon (Carl Esmond), Russian countess Marina Selanova (Ann Blyth) falls in love with American seal hunter Jonathan Clark (Gregory Peck), and the couple plan to sail to Alaska. But when Semyon arrives in San Francisco to claim his bride, he and Clark bet on a boat race to Alaska -- with winner take all. Raoul Walsh directs this adventure film that co-stars Anthony Quinn.
