In this slapstick comedy, a governor's secret orders send two small-town deputies, Dewey (Tim Conway) and Wallace (Chuck McCann), undercover as criminals in a maximum security prison to find out where a gang of crooks has stashed its loot. But the governor suddenly dies, and with no one to vouch for them, Dewey and Wallace must convince the disbelieving warden of their true identities or face years of hard time.
