After her new husband, Robert (Carleton G. Young), abandons her in the midst of their honeymoon to attend a business meeting, swimming instructor Cynthia (Esther Williams) struggles to stop herself from falling in love with handsome war hero Thomas (Van Johnson), who becomes equally smitten with her. Frances Gifford, Henry Travers, Lauritz Melchior and Spring Byington also star in this classic musical brimming with humor and romance.
