Tibetan Refugee

  (2004)
Why do thousands seek refuge in Dharamsala, even though the journey there is difficult and even dangerous? They want to find the Dalai Lama and be able to practice their religion, in spite of the Chinese government's attempts to quash their collective spirit. This documentary chronicles their experience, especially that of singer Yungchen Lhamo, who's presented to her audience at a concert in Central Park by Buddhism expert Robert Thurman.
