To Each His Own
(1946)|
Directed by Mitchell Leisen, this engrossing drama packs an emotional wallop. Olivia de Havilland won a richly deserved Oscar for her portrayal of Josephine Norris, a small-town girl whose tryst with a dashing World War I pilot (John Lund, in his film debut) results in pregnancy. After giving up the child for adoption, Josephine becomes a successful career woman, and on a business trip to London during World War II, she meets her grown son.
