Harry (Danny Glover) shows up at the home of his old pal Gideon (Paul Butler) looking for a place to stay. Gideon takes him in, annoying his wife, Suzie (Mary Alice), who already has her grown, live-in son and his wife on her hands. Harry lives it up with the family, making up for the unsavory pals he brings home by reminding the family of their Southern past. But when Gideon suffers a stroke, Harry drops the charm and takes over the household.
