Toby McTeague (Yannick Bisson) lives with his father, Tom (Winston Rekert), in a tiny Canadian town, where the two raise and train the sled dogs Tom races. When an injury sidelines Tom, Toby wants to take his place in an upcoming race. But in his father's eyes, the boy has a lot of growing up to do first. When Toby meets George Wild Dog (George Clutesi), a Native American shaman and advisor, he discovers the maturity he needs to compete.
