As the youngest son of a rural West Virginia family, David Kinemon (Richard Barthelmess) is the baby of the bunch in this 1921 silent melodrama. David grows up fast, however, when the Hatburn family comes to town and begins harassing folks. Their violent behavior leads to the death of David's father (Edmund Gurney) and the crippling of his brother (Warner Richmond). Now, young David must care for his family while battling the evil Hatburns.
