Under the tutelage of kindly schoolmaster Dr. Thomas Arnold (Robert Newton), young Tom Brown (Oliver Twist star John Howard Davies) braves his first year at the Rugby School for Boys, where he must endure the treachery of world-class bully Flashman (John Forrest). Based on the beloved semiautobiographical novel by Thomas Hughes, this nostalgic drama also stars John Charlesworth as Tom's close friend East.
