Torn Curtain

In Alfred Hitchcock's 50th thriller, an American scientist (Paul Newman) heads off to Copenhagen for a conference with his fiancée (Julie Andrews) in tow, only to see her get drawn into his dangerous espionage activities behind the Iron Curtain. The leading man and leading lady -- two A-list Hollywood stars -- were at the height of their careers, and decidedly nontraditional choices for the maverick English director.
