Toscanini in His Own Words

A notoriously private man who expressed himself publicly through his music, conductor Arturo Toscanini sheds much of his mystique in this docudrama that draws on a treasure trove of recordings of the musical great. Through dramatic re-creations of conversations that were secretly taped by Toscanini's son, as well as home movies and footage of some of Toscanini's most memorable performances, the film reveals much about the great maestro.
