Author Norman Mailer's best-selling mid-1980s potboiler is adapted for the screen. Ryan O'Neal is a writer with a big problem: excessive drinking that leads to memory blackouts. He can't remember whether he committed a murder, so he must talk to everyone he knows to find out. Directed by Mailer himself, the movie also stars Isabella Rossellini, Lawrence Tierney and Clarence Williams III.
