Jennifer Hubbell (Marsha Mason) is a psychologist who faces her toughest case yet -- a boy (Kiefer Sutherland) who chooses not to speak because of unspeakable traumas he's witnessed and experienced: His stepfather murdered his sister right before his eyes. But Dr. Hubbell knows that the boy's salvation lies in being able to finally unload his fear and confusion. If he doesn't, he faces a troubled future that may ultimately destroy him.
