Director Richard Fleischer's sophisticated thriller traces the U.S. government's efforts to take down a successful counterfeiting ring. With fake $20 bills flooding the system, the gang is making buckets of money at taxpayers' expense. Desperate Treasury Department agents know one man who can help get to the source: jailed counterfeiter Tris Stewart (Lloyd Bridges), whom they'll have to bust out of stir and plant as bait. But will he cooperate?
