This dizzying blend of action, adventure, comedy and romance stars international martial arts sensation Chow Yun-Fat as a CIA agent assigned to steal a Chinese national treasure. Awaiting further instruction about his mission, the operative settles in at a Shaolin temple, where he tangles with the resident monks and forms a liaison with a beautiful captive (Jacqueline Wu Chien-Lien) who possesses startling psychic abilities.
