Ross Haney's (Zachary Scott) plans to settle down peacefully on the piece of land he's just purchased are thrown for a loop when he's thrust into an epic feud with a pair of dirty cattle ranchers (Barton MacLane, Charles E. Fredericks). Just when he thinks things can't get any worse, Haney discovers that the scheming Double V Ranch foreman Alan Doran (Dick Foran) is also angling to gain control over the valley.
