A young woman named Nikki (Lori Heuring) falls for worn-out, middle-aged Rem Macy (Tom Berenger), the New York City police officer investigating the murder of her roommate, whose hand was found severed and floating in a Central Park pond. Macy and his partner, Beck (Pamela Gidley), navigate city hall and the underworld gangs of Chinatown, but an attraction to Nikki distracts him and blurs the line between personal and professional ethics.
