Director Paul Verhoeven's shockingly erotic drama -- told via flashback -- stars Rutger Hauer as bohemian Dutch sculptor Eric Vonk, who meets his sexual match in an uninhibited young redhead named Olga Stapels (Monique Van De Ven). The film chronicles the couple's tempestuous, short-lived marriage, which crumbles when Olga deserts Eric for another man -- sending her husband into a downward spiral of depression and debauchery.
