Directors George Romero and Dario Argento each try their hand at an Edgar Allan Poe tale -- "The Facts in the Case of Mr. Valdemar" and "The Black Cat," respectively -- in this eerie double bill. In the first feature, Adrienne Barbeau is an ex-waitress who schemes with her ex-lover for her elderly husband's money. In the second film, Harvey Keitel plays a shutterbug who suffers the consequences of killing his girlfriend's cat.
