A man dies and leaves one half of his ranch and mine to Gene Autry, who wants to keep the operations going, and the other half to greedy Easterner Barbara Erwin (Carol Hughes), who just wants to sell the property and get the money. When Barbara hires two lawyers, she doesn't realize they're ruthless crooks eager to put Autry in mortal danger. Amid the drama, this Western also features songs like "When You're Smiling" and the title tune.
