Prince's follow-up to his hugely popular debut, Purple Rain, has him playing Christopher Tracy, a musician who pals around with his friend Tricky (Jerome Benton) in the south of France, where they hope to meet rich women who'll pay their way. When Tricky encourages Christopher to woo an heiress, Mary Sharon (Kristin Scott Thomas), he's up to the game. But then true love ends up spoiling their plans.
