Killed in a sudden accident, brassy lounge singer Ruby Diamond (Dolly Parton) tries to get into heaven but lacks enough good deeds to enter the pearly gates. Given a second chance and a strict time limit, she returns to Earth and discovers that by helping others she is helping herself. Roddy McDowall co-stars as Saint Peter; Michael Switzer directs this sweet tale that features Parton belting out "Whatcha Tryin' to Do to Me?"
