Using the sperm of a known killer, bizarre scientist Jacob (Erich von Stroheim) artificially inseminates a prostitute. The product of this deranged experiment, Alraune (Hildegard Knef), grows into a stunningly beautiful but violent woman who seduces men and then kills them. Any hapless male who falls for Alraune is in for the shock of his life in this unusual sci-fi and horror film based on the novel by Hanns Heinz Ewers.
