This biopic starring Jacques Dutronc and directed by Maurice Pialat dramatizes painter Vincent Van Gogh's final year of life. The artist's last months near Paris are melancholy as he recovers from mental illness and reconciles with his brother (Bernard Lecoq). But Theo Van Gogh's friendship and financial support allow the Impressionist master to create some of his most famous paintings just before his suicide in 1890.
