When the West Canaan Coyotes' star quarterback suffers a knee injury, second-stringer Jonathan Moxon (James Van Der Beek) gets thrust into the spotlight. Moxon, however, is more interested in academic pursuits than in becoming a football hero. That attitude doesn't sit well with win-at-all-costs coach Bud Kilmer (Jon Voight). Despite Moxon's reluctance, he soon develops pigskin prowess. Will his gridiron glory steer him in a new direction?
