Italian conductor Claudio Abbado leads the London Symphony Orchestra at Edinburgh, Scotland's Usher Hall in this memorable 1982 performance of Giuseppe Verdi's "Requiem." Written toward the end of the composer's career to commemorate the death of Italian poet and novelist Alessandro Manzoni, the piece comes to life with the distinguished voices of sopranos Jessye Norman and Margaret Price, tenor Jose Carreras and bass Ruggero Raimondi.
