Normally relegated to working behind the bench, a judge finds herself on the other side of a criminal case, this time as the victim of a gruesome murder. The cops are on the case but aren't making headway, so television reporter Joanne Kilbourne (Wendy Crewson), who recently featured the judge on her show, does a little detective work to find out who's responsible. She soon discovers, however, just how dangerous her new hobby can be.
