This animated feature includes folk tales from the Indian story cycle of Vikramaditya, a king sworn to retrieve a certain corpse that houses Betal, a vampire spirit that challenges the king with baffling riddles. Every time Vikramaditya breaks his vow of silence to answer one of Betal's intriguing puzzle -- such as which of her three rescuers a kidnapped maiden should marry -- the spirit escapes and the king must begin his quest again.
