Tenor Paul Frey stars as the Swan Knight Lohengrin, with soprano Cheryl Studer as Elsa von Brabant, in this production of Richard Wagner's "Lohengrin," staged by acclaimed film director Werner Herzog. Recorded live at Germany's Bayreuth Opera House, the opera also features Gabriele Schnaut as Ortrud, Ekkehard Wlaschiha as Friedrich von Telramund and Manfred Schenk as Konig Heinrich. Peter Schneider conducts.
