Tasked with leading a caravan of Mormons across the country en route to Utah territory, a church elder (Ward Bond) recruits a pair of horse traders (Ben Johnson and Harry Carey Jr.) to lead the wagon train to safety. But no one plans for a series of mishaps that threaten to derail the journey. John Ford directs this classic black-and-white Western, which bears the honor of being his favorite of the genre.
