Nineteenth-century American adventurer William Walker (Ed Harris) finds his true calling as a mercenary and eventual dictator of Nicaragua in this convention-busting biopic from director Alex Cox. A full-throated protest against American imperialism, this tale of politics and resistance features a spirited score by Joe Strummer of the Clash. Peter Boyle and Marlee Matlin lead the fine supporting cast.
