Author Herman Wouk's sprawling World War II opus -- a sequel to "The Winds of War" -- became a landmark television series starring Robert Mitchum as Captain "Pug" Henry, head of an illustrious American naval family. Co-starring Polly Bergen (as "Pug's" wife), Hart Bochner and Jane Seymour as Natalie Jastrow, the film encompasses plotlines ranging from key naval battles to the destruction of European Jews at the hands of the Nazis.
