War in Color

Although most World War II-era images come from newsreel footage shot in shades of black and white, a stockpile of color film does exist -- it's just rarely been seen before. This three-disc collection documents the conflict in a whole new light, including the battles of Midway, Saipan and Iwo Jima; the Allied invasion of Normandy; Winston Churchill's run for re-election; and the destruction of Japanese suicide bombers.
