Monika Treut's moving documentary follows the work of human rights activist Yvonne Bezerra de Mello, who's dedicated herself to protecting homeless children in Rio de Janeiro. An award-winning artist, de Mello has been trying to find safe homes and schools for these powerless youngsters since 1993. Once a member of Brazil's elite, she now struggles to make the privileged aware of the tragic plight of her country's poorest residents.
