When Hubert (Jean Reno) receives a phone call from Japan informing him that the love of his life, who disappeared nearly 20 years ago, has died, he soon discovers that he's been saddled with a handful of problems -- and Yumi, a daughter (Ryoko Hirosue) he never knew he had! Learning that his former flame had stolen money from the Yakuza, a fortune their daughter will soon inherit, the French cop must solve the mysterious death and protect Yumi.
