Despite being animated, John Rosen's adaptation of Richard Adams's best-selling novel is a serious, disturbing and often violent tale about a society of rabbits that flees its endangered home to start anew. The rabbits face peril along the way -- mainly from an evil group of fellow rabbits known as Efrafa -- and their loyalty and courage is tested repeatedly on the journey to find ultimate freedom. John Hurt leads the cast of voice actors.
