In this British television miniseries, the burgeoning relationship between a respected young doctor (Susannah York) and a Yankee playboy (Michael J. Shannon) forces the community in a war-torn English market town to come together in 1943. When an American Bomber group is stationed in town, cultures clash and romances flare as the Americans and the Brits learn to accept each other's differences and let go of their prejudices.
