As one of the few literate men in his village of Sajjanpur, aspiring novelist Mahadev (Shreyas Talpade) makes a niche for himself writing letters for money. He enjoys helping people deal with various issues, but things change when beautiful Kamla (Amrita Rao) comes to him. Mahadev, who has always had feelings for Kamla, can't resist manipulating the communications between Kamla and her husband in the city with hopes of winning her for himself.
