In this comedy based on the semi-biographical stories of Hunter S. Thompson, the gonzo journalist (Bill Murray) stumbles through a series of wacky adventures (some true, some imagined) from 1968 to 1972 -- often with his attorney, Carl Lazlo (Peter Boyle), by his side. Fueled by drugs, Wild Turkey and firearms, Thompson covers the Super Bowl and the 1972 presidential election, and even takes a side trip that terrifies an unsuspecting hitchhiker.
