Homeschooled by frequently nude hippies in an anything-goes atmosphere, 13-year-old Emerson Thorsen (Aaron Webber) has already written and illustrated his first book ... but he hasn't got a clue when it comes to social skills. When his parents send him off to public school, he develops an intense crush on his English teacher (Daniel MacIvor), a closeted gay man, in this award-winning coming-of-age story.
