Wife Versus Secretary

Van (Clark Gable) is happily married to Linda (Myrna Loy) but can't survive in business without his loyal secretary, Whitey (Jean Harlow). The plot thickens when Van takes Whitey on a business trip, fueling Linda's jealousy and infuriating Whitey's boyfriend (James Stewart, in one of his first roles). The stars of this little-known MGM 1930s screwball comedy directed by Clarence Brown all play against type to great effect.
