British director Coky Giedroyc's bittersweet comedy follows quiet Ellen (Gina McKee) and off-the-wall single mother Cora (Helena Bonham Carter), whose unlikely yet enduring friendship helps them survive heartbreak, pregnancy and divorce. But when a shocking secret of Cora's comes to light, it threatens to end their relationship. The first-rate supporting cast includes James Purefoy, James Nesbitt, Kenneth Cranham and Eileen Atkins.
