Detective John Traveller (Peter Coyote) is convicted of the murder of his wife and her lover. But Traveller's partner, Matt Ransom, isn't buying the verdict. Doing some sleuthing on his own, Ransom discovers a number of possible suspects, only to have them fall prey, one by one, to a serial killer. As Traveller ably assists in the investigation from his prison cell, it slowly dawns on Ransom that a conspiracy might be at the root of it all.
