Budding basketball star Ella (Maria Celedonio) discovers that her much-loved great-uncle (Robert Guillaume), who now works days as a barber, was one of the early great black film directors nearly a half-century before. In helping her uncle to accept his past, Ella becomes custodian of a rich cultural legacy from a little-known era in history. This truly inspiring story also stars Tim Reid.
