Soap operas (or, rather, daytime dramas) are lovingly skewered in this hilarious send-up directed by Garry Marshall. The center of the action -- and confusion -- is a hospital staffed not by competent, motivated doctors and nurses but by a bunch of randy, out-of-control medics (played by Sean Young and Michael McKean, among others). These wacky folks tend to equally goofy patients, including a mobster's cross-dressing son (Hector Elizondo).
