This Oscar-nominated film from Polish director Andrzej Wajda is an unsentimental but poetic exploration of the ironies of love and hope. After 15 years away, Wiktor returns to his hometown of Wilko, where he encounters five sisters who are forced to reconsider their complicated lives and personal failures.
