By turns humorous and violent, this action-packed thriller set in Osaka, Japan, tracks three high school delinquents, two of whom fall into Yakuza-style thuggery, while the other takes a low-paying job at a hair salon. When one of the pals drifts into a gauzy romance, and away from his responsibilities, the trio's friendship is tested. Director Takashi Miike's coming-of-age story explores maintaining youthful innocence in an unscrupulous world.
