After paying his dues as a street performer and stage actor, Jane tackled a series of supporting parts in movies such as Face/Off and Boogie Nights (both 1997) before landing the lead in the sci-fi thriller Deep Blue Sea (1999). The high-profile role led to a studied portrayal of baseball legend Mickey Mantle in the made-for-TV movie 61* and a credible turn as a comic-book superhero in the action flick The Punisher (2004).
Jane also scored big -- no pun intended -- playing a struggling high school basketball coach who uses his sizable below-the-belt assets to turn his life around in the HBO series "Hung." His performance garnered critical claim, along with Golden Globe nominations in 2010 and 2011.
