Born March 28, 1970, in Minneapolis and raised in a wealthy Chicago suburb, Midwesterner Vince Vaughn became a Californian soon after graduating from high school. Bitten by the acting bug early and never a keen student, Vaughn headed straight from high school to Hollywood -- where he promptly fell into the role of struggling actor. It would be seven years before Vaughn finally caught the public's eye with his role in Swingers (1996), a film written by his friend and fellow actor Jon Favreau and inspired by their own real-life adventures. Soon after, Steven Spielberg cast him in The Lost World: Jurassic Park.
After some disappointing turns, Vaughn took a couple of years off from acting before returning with a string of hits, including Old School (2003), Starsky & Hutch (in which he played the villain), Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (with Ben Stiller) and Wedding Crashers.
