Born March 28, 1981, New York City native Julia Stiles established an impressive list of acting accomplishments at a young age. After training at the Professional Children's School, she subsequently attended Columbia University, where she was an English major.Making her film bow in 1996's I Love You, I Love You Not and next playing Harrison Ford's daughter in The Devil's Own (1997), Stiles landed her breakthrough role in the critically acclaimed Wicked (1998). Between 1999 and 2001, she appeared in three modern teen revisions of William Shakespeare plays: 10 Things I Hate About You ("The Taming of the Shrew"), Hamlet and O ("Othello").
Moving on to more mature fare, Stiles starred opposite Matt Damon in The Bourne Identity (2002) and its two sequels. Her other notable movies include State and Main (2000) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). In 2010, Stiles received a Golden Globe nod for her work in the macabre Showtime series "Dexter."
